03-Reproductive Health & Community Sensitization

Awareness and outreach to protect vulnerable girls and young mothers from exploitation, STIs, and early pregnancies — encouraging dignity, wellbeing, and informed decision-making.

04-MAMA

The MAMA Program is a community-led initiative by Access for Life Uganda (AFLU) that empowers trusted and experienced women to become MAMA Health Champions. Through specialized training in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), these women provide health education, mentorship, community awareness, and referrals for adolescent girls and young mothers.

The program responds to the reproductive health challenges facing Kizinda, where many girls and young women have limited access to accurate health information and services. By building on the wisdom and trust of experienced community mothers, MAMA strengthens local support systems and helps girls and young mothers make informed decisions about their health and future.

Working closely with health facilities, local leaders, and community stakeholders, the MAMA Program aims to improve reproductive health knowledge, promote healthy behaviors, increase access to essential services, and create a safer, healthier future for girls, young mothers, and their families.
